Facial Uplift Rejuvenation

The Chinese discovered that by pressing certain acupressure points on the face, there was a greater flow of blood and oxygen to the facial area.

Massage promotes a release of tension, a softening of lines, and toning and tightening of sagging skin, among other health-related benefits. This form of massage is not a “facial” but rather a massage-oriented treatment for the face; part of the treatment will include using a guasha tool with a light touch to help release facial restrictions and reduce swelling and inflammation.

The skin will appear brighter and more relaxed, rejuvenated, tightened and toned. All skin types will respond positively, since massage keeps the collagen and elastin fibers wet and warm, which encourages and stimulates their growth.

Reflexology

Reflexology is based on the premise that there are nerve reflexes in the feet that correspond with every part, gland and organ of the body. Through systematic pressure and stimulation of these reflexes, the body is assisted to return to natural functioning. In the process, endorphins (natural pain-killers) are released, parasympathetic relaxation of the nervous system takes place, increased blood and lymphatic circulation results in increases in oxygen and immune levels, all of which helps to restore balance to the body. Reflexology primarily eases tension, and helps to reduce stress. It is a wonderful way to feel better and gain a sense of well-being.

Reflexology is not a substitute for necessary medical treatment. Reflexology is a holistic modality often working together with other medical and complementary therapies to achieve the best results for the client.

Thai Foot Reflexology

Thai Foot Reflexology is a delightful treatment for the lower legs and feet that originated in Thailand about 2000 years ago. Utilizing stretching, massage, thumb-walking and the use of a specially-tooled wooden stick to stimulate the reflex points, Thai Foot Reflexology seeks to restore balance to the body/mind through the reflexes of the feet and lower legs that are linked to the body’s 72,000 energy meridians (sen). It is an enjoyable holistic treatment that restores balance to the mind and body at the same time that it stimulates the internal organs.

Reported benefits are:

  • • improved circulation in legs and hands
  • • improved lymphatic drainage
  • • increased removal of waste deposits and toxins
  • • elevated functioning of the immune system
  • • reduced stiffness and improved flexibility
  • • accelerated physical healing
  • • relief from stress
  • • improved sleep
  • • mental clarity and stimulation

EMDR - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing

EMDR is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma and many other mental health problems.

To date, EMDR therapy has helped millions of people of all ages relieve many types of psychological stress.

The goal of EMDR therapy is to process completely the experiences that are causing problems, and to include new ones that are needed for full health. "Processing" does not mean talking about it.

"Processing" means setting up a learning state that will allow experiences that are causing problems to be "digested" and stored appropriately in your brain. That means that what is useful to you from an experience will be learned, and stored with appropriate emotions in your brain, and be able to guide you in positive ways in the future. The inappropriate emotions, beliefs, and body sensations will be discarded. Negative emotions, feelings and behaviours are generally caused by unresolved earlier experiences that are pushing you in the wrong directions.

The goal of EMDR therapy is to leave you with the emotions, understanding, and perspectives that will lead to healthy and useful behaviours and interactions.

Scientific research has established EMDR as effective for post traumatic stress.  However, clinicians also have reported success using EMDR in treatment of the following conditions:

  • • Panic attacks
  • • Complicated grief
  • • Dissociative disorders
  • • Disturbing memories
  • • Phobias
  • • Pain disorders
  • • Performance anxiety
  • • Stress reduction
  • • Addictions
  • • Sexual and/or Physical abuse
  • • Body dysmorphic disorders
  • • Personality Disorders
